  1. My gym teacher said his son had the same problem so he practices and practiced and he gained 5 to 10 inches to his 15 in jump.

  2. Go to the beach and find some very soft sand.  Jump rope in that soft sand for about 100 reps per day.

My verticle increased simply by playing beach volleyball in the sand during the summers, and I got to work out with the Olympic team one summer - that is what they did for training.  Your legs will hate you in the morning, but your jump will be awesome!

  3. Well as a hitter myself, my jump wasnt fantastic.

Until i started just doing my approach over and over again.

I do it anytime im walking around the house.

It may not sound like it, but it really does help.

Think about it, the thing that is going to make you jump better, is Jumping.

    Haha.

  4. Get some ankle weights. Wear them all the time. Hold your arms straight up in the air and jump up and down (staying on your toes) for 30 seconds. Then rest for 30 and do it again. After a while you will realize you are jumping much higher. Ankle weights will help with jumping and leg strength training in any sport.

  5. the exercise i use are simple calf raises.  stand on a step with your heel hanging off.  extend up onto your toes, then back down.  Do about 100 each foot.  You can also find a bench or something a little higher than a step and quickly, as fast as you can, jump with both feet up and down for about 30 seconds.  Rest 30, then do it again.  These are easy ways to oncrease your vertical if you cant make it to a gym.

  6. There are some good suggestions already.

I would also add jumping while in the pool.  Get about chest deep in the water, crouch down and then jump as high as you can.  Repeat.  The water will act as resistance to help increase your jump.  It will also cushion your landing for your knees and ankles.

  7. You need to do alot of plyo's. Strength training shoes will help too.Calfs are really hard to build but work every angle of them. Also use thoes long rubberbands for resistance, kinda in the squat position...use all of these 3 days a week.that WILL DO IT>

  8. What i did to get better is but some tape on the wall about the height that you can get it.. then put one a little higher and keep on doing that. just jump and try to touch it..then move on to the next one and try to get it..if you cant get one of them then restart and keep on trying.. i was able to jump a lot higher doing that..i hope it works!!!

  9. well practicing your approach everyday helps.and also do drills to get your legs stonger, such as wall sits, lunges, calf raises, and going running.

    good luck!

  10. The best drill for any jumper is to go up and down the court or wherever while jumping up and kicking yourself in the rear with both feet at the same time.  It can really be hard but the more you do it the better your jump.

  11. do jump rope for 15 minutes a day
