OK here is what you do, I'm sure since you are coming to yahoo for answers that you have approached him with this issue a few times. I'm not sure how bad it is but, and i know this sounds Brady bunch but make a chore chart! if hes just leaving messes all over the place and leaving dishes in the sink then put it in his room. But u dont want to start a war with roomie!! just remember you have to remain civil. You dont want to p**s off the person who knows where are your valuables are ya know!! Just tell him hes a slob and you are tired of cleaning up after him. that he needs to help. Try reasoning first then action!! Good luck!!

What i would do may sound a bit silly, but i would clean one side of the apartment and leave the other side, then tell him that is YOUR SIDE and he can have the other side, he may get a bit upset about it but put it to him firmly that just because he he wants to live in mess you don't, so until he starts to help keep the place tidy then that is the way things will be, also just wash up the dishes that you use and put them away where ever you may put them and even split them away from the others so you have all the clean dishes, and just put his stacked on the side and as much as you feel like you want to wash them don't, and when he starts to run out of clean dishes to eat off, don't let him get his hands on yours then he will not have a choice but to wash them, hopefully this works.

that person above me might be right on how you approached him many times, or ur like me and r lazy and want other people to think for you, either way, i dont care, if you want him to help around just leave things that bother him but you dont mind, sooner or later he'll help out and might just make it routine
