so i just moved in to a new neighborhood and the our neighbors house is pretty close to ours. they are really nice people so i don't want to be the annoying new neighbor. but ever since we moved in we haven't had a silent night with no barking dog from they're yard. it is a little ridiculous that the dog really does bark off and on all night long and they don't even do anything about it. it sounds like the dog is right at our bedroom window. i have a 4 1/2 month old also and he usually sleeps through the night, but ever since we moved here he wakes up all night from the dog. i don't know how the rest of the neighbors near us have dealt with it for so long. any ideas on what i can do??

  1. Just go talk to them. :] they wont bite! Let them know that its is causing some issues and you'd like to see if they may be able to do something about it. Watch the tv show, "its me or the dog" as they show you how to teach a dog to be silent. XDD Recommend they watch it and try it. It'll save everyone from loud barking

  2. Where do you live? I have that same exact problem. My neighbor has these dogs and they bark all night. I would try to nicely learn more about the dogs, Kinda find out if thats normal for the dog. Some dogs were used as guard dogs so they bark at everything. I eventually just get used to it. It just becomes a natural part of my night. Its just getting to sleep thats the problem. Try  putting some music on and just ignore it. I know its hard it was hard for me to. THe truth is there is nothing you can say to them that isnt mean. LIke what are you going to say " Tell your dog to stop barking?" I hate it too. Eventually it will just be normal. Good Luck!

  3. call the police or animal control...you're neighbors are violating noise laws...you're neighbor will most likely get a fine...just look out because your neighbor might want to get revenge on you

  4. Well, of course, the first thing to do is bring up the subject of their barking dog.  See if there is a reason for his barking. Maybe he doesn't like being outside all night and would like to come in and sleep!  People are also going to be more understanding when you say that you have a baby in the house.

See if you can help them come up with solutions to the problem.

  5. I had the same problem. I went and spoke with them first to give them an opportunity to rectify the problem. I had no more problems but sometimes you might have to call the local city services or police because there are laws pertaining to noise.

  6. You could politely talk to the neighbour and explain the problem, ask other neighbours how they feel about it, go to environmental health and talk to them, speak to rspca also.
