How can i get the snowy sound out of my tv set?

I have a Phillips TV and when the sound is on its sowny...I have it hooked to the cable box not a converter, and the SAP on the tv states unavailable. What can I do?

  1. It may be somewhat simple.

    After checking all the wires you have are all in tight and not slipping out, try this. This could just be a bad connection.

    Check the power cord of your TV and cable box. Are they polarized? (One side bigger than the other)

    If they are then it should be fine, if not, try unplugging one, flipping it over and plugging it back in.

    If you have them in an extension cord, make sure you didn't manage to flip it the wrong way in the mix.

    It may be a problem with the cable coming to your home, you may simply need to call the cable company and have them fix it


  2. 1) Check all audio connections. The problem might lie in loose or poor quality cables. Also make make sure you have firmly connected both Red and White audio cables for stereo sound.

    2) Play around with your TV's and your Cable Box's sound menus. Firstly, make sure it's set to "Stereo" everywhere, and then try to modify some other options.

    I found that my sound worked poorly when I had it set on "Narrow" or "Fixed" rather than the default setting (on my cable box).
