  1. i have a parrot when i clip my parrot the shopkepper open the top part of the cage and grab the wings and carry out of the cage you do the same thing too dont worry it wont get hurt remember to swich off the fans and close the doors so it wont get hurt when flying or it wont fly out off your house .

    p.s. hope it helped you

  2. Open the door, step back... they'll come out.

  3. Before you release your bird(s), you need to take some precautions.  The first is to have the primary flight feathers trimmed so they can't escape or get up so much speed that they injure themselves if they crash into something.  Second, make sure they can't fall behind something where they'll be trapped or you can't extricate them.  Third, make sure there are no ceiling fans, open pots of water, hot stoves, or pets that may injure the birds.

If your cage has catches that can be released, the easiest way to get them out is to take of the top of the cage.  If you can't remove the top, then open the door and secure it if it slides up to open so it doesn't fall and hurt the birds as they exit.  You may have to leave the door open for a long time as the cage represents safety to the birds.  Leave some treats at the door to attract the birds to the opening.

Be prepared to clean up the bird droppings and for the birds to chew on things that you might not want damaged!  Parrot type birds are notorious for putting notches into all sorts of things such as wooden furniture, lamp shades, pages of books, plants, edges of carpets or just about anything they can get their beaks on!

  4. I am assuming that these are new birds to you.  First you need to be calm and cheerful in your voice and manner.  Birds will sense if you are nervous.  Second get a leather glove (I use gardening gloves) and reach into the door part of the cage to take bird out.  After a few times of this the bird will realize that you are not going to hurt it.  I can stick a pencil into doorway of cage and say up and ( if my bird feels cooperative) bird will hop up on it and hold onto it.  I use the pencil or a stick to get her to "step up" when she is out of cage too.  Good luck!

  5. Ang, they will come out naturally after about 30 days, of leaving the cage door open and offering them the opportunity. There are some cage bound birds, who won't come out. Generally these are the hens. The c***s (that's what the male birds are called!) will come out because they want to establish territory.

If, after 30-45 days they do not come out, you can use a garden glove. Once you get im', put them on the top of the cage with something for them to perch on. They will get the idea, but expect them to fly off the perch in the beginning until they get comfortable.
