How can i get to know the status of the economy in a certain country?

I don't have any background whatsoever in economy ,nevertheless i am very curious ,what can i do to analise and determine whether or not a country is in good economic shape. i understand that the value of the currency not always tells you if a country is strong or not ,can anyone tell me in a simple language what should i look for or look at ? thanks

Look at GDP per capita, compare to other countries.

Also, GDP growth rate (how fast an economy is growing).

Also, inflation rate

and UN human development index.
