Question:

How can i get to sleep?

Whats a good way to get a good nights sleep. Also when i go to bed i lay there awake for ages, i just cant get to sleep straight away. Any tips? Thanks x

  1. No caffenine after 4pm, try reading a book to make you drowsy, or listen to soft comforting music before you go to bed.


  2. No caffeine within 6-8 hours of bed, no alcohol, warm bath, and try to relax.  If you can't sleep because your mind won't shut off, try keeping a notepad on you nightstand, and write down the things you are thinking about and plan to deal with them the next day.  

  3. If you can drink milk, drink some sometimes before bed because milk's known to contain certain substances that help chemically induce sleep in some way.

    Reading a book before going to sleep usually works wonders. I suppose it was because it's a good exercise for your brain, and as you sleep, what you read would be processed among the other things. I would avoid watching TV before sleep because the waves from the TV stimulates your brain and it decreases chances of getting a good night rest.

  4. Try meditation.  I had issues sleeping when I was pregnant and meditation really helped.  Research different methods online and see which one might fit you.  Otherwise there is also sleepytime tea that generally works too.

  5. aparently the trick is to try and stay awake.

    like you did when you were a kid to try and stay awake for santa, you got to sleep pretty quick right? lols. maybe thats just me..

    other ways is to listen to slow, calming music before/during being in bed looking at no bright screens like an hour before going to sleep and drinking warm milk, no alcohol.

  6. lay in bed, But make sure you arent drinking any sodas, or anything, pretend to sleep, and then you will go to sleep! turn everything off tho!
