The nearest underground station is Ataba. The Mohamed Ali street starts at Ataba square. Trust me. It is safe to go alone.

metro from tahrir ( Shobra line) only 2 stations to ataba station

then when u go up to the ground look for the Firefighting center , it's very close to it

and it's very safe to go there alone even after midnight !

from mohamed nageb station by metro go up from gamea el tabakh and mohamed fared you will find on your right hand a street which will lead u to el gmhorya theater when you reach el gomhrya theater cross the street to abd el aziez street then go left as if you will go to el atba sq. may be after 8 or 10 min. walking you will reach mohamed ali street as i remember its the third or forth street on your right hand
