How can i go about in finding a boxer trainer or a gym where they train others in how to box?

I live in New York City does anyone know of any listings or gyms where i can train in boxing? I want to learn some form of self defense and i strongly need a recommendation or a way to search and find a place in New York. If anyone knows of a good trainer or a place please feel free and post.

I am also willing to hear about any martial arts class anyone is willing to recommend within New York, thank-you!!!

Youc an visit any local gym or YMCA. There are plenty gyms in NYC where they have professional boxers and trainers giving lessons for a fee.
