can i go there with a religious visa?

From the USA, you cannot go there directly.  You have to go thru another country like Mexico.  I don't know the entry requirements in Cuba but would think they are not strict if you are just visiting, you would have to check Cuban government website to find out.  As a note, as you reenter the US, be aware that many items from Cuba are forbidden to be imported so you should be careful what you buy there.

i would check with a travel agency. Cuba is changing their ways very drastically. With Fidel out their country is fast becoming a different place.

they now let their own citizens stay in hotels.
