  1. Try to prevent yourself from going to sleep.

  2. I have that same problem and it sucks for school... I ususally read a REALLY boring book.. take a hot shower or just lay down and close my eyes. It actually helps you rest even if youre not sleeping- just laying and relaxing. DONT watch TV...

  3. I I used to have a big problem with insomnia, and I can offer a bunch of ways to help you to sleep better. You can try of few of the approaches below, and see what works best for you.

Depending on the season, a warm bath with lavender oil or whatever oil is most soothing for you, is a great way to relax both your body and your mind. If you can’t take a bath, you can give yourself a foot massage with slightly warm oil, preferably sesame oil or castor oil.

There are herbs that are helpful for sleep, eg, valerian root, kava kava, chamomile, hops, passion flower, catnip. If you get the real herbs, you can make teas out of them. In capsule form, they are available in most health food or vitamin stores. You can try a single herb or combinations of herbs. Probably, valerian root and kava kava are the best. There are also homeopathic remedies, eg, coffea cruda & others, that might work.

What was very helpful to me, especially when my mind was racing, was to lie in bed and listen to relaxation CDs, especially those that contain someone speaking with relaxing music in the background. Many of these CDs are available on eBay for very low prices.

A relaxation technique similar to meditation is relax your body one part at a time. So you could relax your feet, your lower legs, upper legs, moving up from your lower belly up to your chest, etc., etc.

A similar technique is to just let your mind move from one part of your body to another. Just do this spontaneously, seeing where your mind goes next. Of course, guided relaxation methods can help, imagining yourself in the country, the beach, or whatever is most soothing to you.

If none of this c**p works, get a gun and go to a local drug store. Say to the cashier, "This is a stick up. Give me all the sleeping pills you have."

  4. Try taking a hot shower, reading a really boring book and if all else fails call your doctor to see if they can get you in for an appointment.

  5. I have insomniac problems myself, it's quite annoying when I need to wake up at a decent hour.  These natural based pills called Melatonin are what I've been taking now.  Melatonin is an enzyme that your brain naturally makes to help you feel relaxed, tired, and calm.  These pills just amplify those feelings without putting strain on your body.  That is just one thing I would recommend.

  6. well tommarow just run around and get alot of excersise work out thats what i do then i hang with friends and play back yard baseball or football till like 10 30 then i go to bed and i am knocked out by 10 45

  7. try a warm not hot bath our body temperature actually drops when we are ready to sleep so a hot bath or shower is actually going to wake you up make sure there is absolutely no lights on in your room that includes coming from under your door or the numbers on the clock they can disrupt your minds ability to relax do not go on the computer right before bed it acts as a light and your brain registers light with daytime it is best to read a book or listen to classical music also try a cup of chamomile tea before bed it is a natural sedative and it is calming do not add milk to the cup or sugar drink it straight try these and you should be able to sleep better

  8. Our mental state can greatly affect our sleep patterns. Natural remedies can provide safe, effective support to assist with occasional routine restlessness at night and to wind down naturally after a busy day.

--Avena sativa is used by herbalists to address common nervous exhaustion and also as an effective nerve tonic.

--Scuttelaria laterifolia has a long history of effective traditional use and is a well respected nerve tonic.

--Passiflora incarnatais a gentle yet effective soothing herb often recommended by herbalists for people who tend to worry occasionally and to support peace and harmony in the spirit

--Coffea (30C) is a remedy of particular benefit for people who may find it difficult to ‘wind down’.

--Nux vomica (30C) is another remedy especially effective for the ambitious, perfectionist person who cannot unwind easily.

    Also consider:

--Exercise regularly (but not just before bed time!)

--Avoid alcohol and caffeine products at least 4 hours before bedtime.

--Try to use the hours before bedtime for relaxation to help your mind and body to wind down

--Have a warm bath just before you go to bed

--If you are worried, anxious or depressed, talk about your feelings to someone you trust

--If you have unresolved issues or problems that are causing stress, consult a counselor for help in making changes to your life.

Always be sure to obtain natural remedies from a reliable, trustworthy source to ensure safety and maximum effectiveness.
