Vishal, it is a very popular route with lots of buses going.

You can check www.irctc.com for railway

And Bus, check with Karnatak Tourism.

Or just reach there , Hubli, and go to bus stop.

Take the bus from Hubli to Mangalore and get off at Surathkal.  If u take the bus from Hubli to Udupi, take the Express bus from Udupi to Mangalore and get off at Surathkal. (If u are going to RIT Surathkal, u can get off at that stop which is 2-3 KMs before reaching Surathkal).

I prefer Bus to Train...
