Question

how do i graph these functions?

y = 2x + 3

and y + (absolute value sign)x(absolute value sign) - 1

Please explain and thank you

easiest way is to just plug in numbers for x or y and solve for the other.  Start by making x = 0 and then y = 0

y = 0+3 = 3 so one pt is 0,3

0 = 2x+3

2x = -3

x = - 3/2 so another pt is -3/2, 0

Do the same for the other eq.
