How can i grow potatoes in water?

There was this scince project last year in my school and i just rememberd it. This guy grew potatoes in water!!! Can any1 tell me how to do that i wanna try it at home :) Thx

I remember doing this as a kid. The trick was to 1st cut the potato in half and suspend the cut half in water slightly.   A glass of water was used and tooth picks were stuck into the sides of the potato to hold the potato above water. the toothpicks rested on the rim of the glass and water was added to the glass until it covered the cut section by about a 1/4 inch.
