  2. Its always been pretty simple for me to grow them.  Wait until there is no more chance of frost.  Plant them where they will get full sun and water every other day if you can.  There's not really any trick to it.

  3. Along with fertilizing and watering regularly, try this:  Strip off all leaves except for the top 1/4 of the plant.  Bury the stem up to where the top leaves are.  The plant will grow lots of roots from the stem and you'll have a much stronger plant.

  4. No need to grow them, do what i do, i buy them at the store.  Hope this helps.

  5. cold area? tomatoes need heat, try hydrophonics

  6. Here are a couple of suggestions to help you get started.

First, if you are trying to grow them in pots, make sure you have at least twice as much room for the plant as you would think you need.  The better the root system, the stronger the plant.

Second, take your soil and mix it with about 30 percent manure.  Tomatoes love manure and will produce much more fruit if you keep the nitrogen content of the soil high.

Third, keep the soil at a consistent level of moisture.  If you water the soil unevenly (that is sometimes it wet and sometimes it's dry) your tomatoes will split and the plants may not grow as well.  You can keep the soil consistently saturated by burying some 2 liter bottles in the soil.  Cut off the top of the bottle and poke some small pin holes near the bottom of the bottle.  When you water, just fill up the bottles and let them drain into the soil.  When the bottle gets low, refill it.  Don't put too many holes in the bottle or the soil will stay too moist.  Try this out before you put the tomatoes in the ground.

Finally, use something like miracle grow once a week.  This will keep the nitrogen content of the soil higher and make the plants grow.

If you follow these steps and give your plants enough sunlight, you'll get good, strong plants that produce fruit.  Good luck!

  7. Don’t fight it.

If you can’t grow tomatoes, grow something else.

The people that have the most success in gardening are the people who grow plants that will live in the soil and lighting conditions they have – instead of trying to change the soil and forcing the plant to grow in more or less light, heat, etc.

The same applies to houseplants. Grow the plants that will do well in the condition you have instead of trying to make the plant change the way it was meant to grow.
