It depends on what you mean by hacking. Hacking as in updating the internal memory or software, or hacking as in modding the psp with a new firmware. Both are possible, yet like the others said, "Bricking" is a possible outcome. If you would brick your psp, pandoras battery would reset your firmwares settings to the original. If you want to update your hardware, just look for psp upgrades. Mostly on the sony website the can be found, or goto google and search for DARK_ALEX

you are aware that by hacking your psp you are risking "bricking" it which is a state that it undergoes once realized being hacked and literally becomes a brick where you can't do anything with it.

It's not an easy task. You have to download homebrew for your PSP and make your self a Pandora's battery to reset the firmware.
