How can i have a black and white picture with a pink jacket or any color?

I really want to have nice myspace pics but i just cant do it Can any of yall help me PLEASE!!! My friends dont tell me how so i just got plain and simple pics but i want them cooler. PLEASE help me!!! <3

Well, you can use any number of picture manipulation programs, but I find Photoshop or Photofiltre are the simplest to use, and you can easily download free versions of them. For photoshop, there are several tutorials you can use, among others;

Basically you copy and paste the color image in a new layer and convert just the layer to black and white and erase the black and white part that you want to be in color. Or you could do a layer mask with hue/saturation or black&amp;white (in cs3).

One basic technique is to start with a color picture and then create a selection around the object to stay colored. Then invert the selection and remove the color from this inverse selection.
