How can i have a cheap lakeside BBQ without spending alot of money, we need food and fun for ages 5yrs & up ?

it's my boyfriens 24th b-day and family and friends are coming and we are renting 1 or 2 jetskies and we thought that, that was enough money as it is with the deposit and all, so we are trying to also have food and fun for everyone aging from 5yrs and up.
