  1. Yes, you just have to do lots of research...lots of work. Or, go to Las Vegas

  2. go to city hall & get married or have a home wedding & have family members cook the food & do other stuff like that.

  3. hire a planner to tell you.

  4. my wedding was only $3000 for all of it just make your own food and do lots of reserch to find the cheapest of what you want we did alot of that

  5. dont pay so much attention in your wedding details as much as for your marriage lasting.......good luck thou

  6. Don't spend any money.

  7. Plan a meaningful ceremony and after party in a locale that both of you really would enjoy, invite only the people that matter to you, and make it intimate. I think beaches, fields, or a rented yacht wedding would beat the c**p out of any stuffy church wedding any day, don't you? Make it informal so there are no pointless expenses. Seriously, I'd do it on a boat with good food and booze and fun!

  8. Marrying at the courthouse will save U lots of money therefore the money U save can be put toward a really nice HONEYMOON!!!  A reception when U get back with family & friends would also be nice for them to share in your special event.

  9. the two of you, a priest (or judge or whatever you need) two witnesses.

or do what my cousin did have people sponsor things like have your aunt sponsor the cake, your uncle sponsor the food, your parents to sponsor your dress and tell them instead of gifts for you two, that is what you want my cousin got married in paris with 250 people watching and crying she and her husband paid 25.00 that was the tip for the valet. if you don't get everything paid for at least you can get some things crossed off your list by this technique. good luck and congrats.

  10. I only paid 3000.00 for my wedding and it was beautiful.

Most of the money you will spend will go on your dress, church and reception hall.  If you have a close family member or if you go to a church, usually you can use it for just the cleaning cost and that is minimal.  If you have a close knit family....use them, they will be glad to!   If you have an Aunt that makes great food (or a few of them) consider asking them if they would thinking about catering a small event in stead of giving you a wedding gift.  My fiance and I already have everything we need as far as "setting up a home" goes...so we are asking that everyone bring a coverd dish instead of a gift and we will spend the entire afternoon in a laid back enviroment getting the chance to visit with everyone.

Next...if you have a smidgeon of creativity...between WalMart and Hobby Lobby or Micheals (who have classes to show you  have to make arrangements or will make them for you cheaper than a florist) you can get all your supplies!  Even invitations!  WalMart even has a wonder bakery that can make beautiful cakes!

I had a cheap photographer do the basic shots, then family with cameras, and one time use cameras at each table to catch the reception!  Just plan and shop...it really can be done cheaply...just don't be afraid to ask relatives and friends that are creative...trust me, they love to help!

    Good luck!

  14. i got married by the justice of the peace and my mom is throwing me the reception. Its not a lot of money. A lot less than a  wedding

  15. The most cost effective way to have an affordable wedding is to keep your guest list at very close friends and family only. The food at the reception will eat the majority of your budget and believe me, have 60 people there vs. 100 will save you thousands.

There are actually a lot of way to cut your budget dramatically, but without knowing your total budget, it's hard to say.

    General guidelines to follow:

    - Choose a ceremony location that doesn't need any decoration. We're getting married in a garden, so we saved a ton on the floral bill because we only needed bouquets for the ceremony.

    - Consider doing appetizers and dessert only, kind of like a 5-hour cocktail hour, instead of a buffet or sit-down dinner.

    - Buy your dress at a sample sale, or shop off the rack in the evening dress section for white dresses. Anything that's a "bridal gown" will cost you a lot.

    - Craigslist! While risky, we've found some good,c heap vendors on here, specifically photography and a string quartet for the ceremony. Usually the vendors are less money because they're just starting out, or don't have a portfolio. So be sure to interview them extensively.

Hope that helps to get you started!

  16. -get married and have the reception at the same place.

-do alot of things yourself (centerpieces and other decor)

-have a dpt store do your makeup along with your bridesmaids (alot of them will do it free)

-if you have a cosmotology school near you... check into their for hair, most likely it with me less expensive

-cupcakes instead of cake... we paid 118$ for 300cupcakes.

-ask family and friends to help with food

-look for sales! saved us TONS of money

-if your doing alchol at your reception consider just having beer instead of hard liqour.

hope I helped.  if you need any more ideas just let me know. My wedding was most deffinatly affordable.

    Good Luck!

  17. Fridays and Sundays are much cheaper. If you must do a Saturday, a daytime reception is cheaper than evening. If you do a daytime one, as far as food, deli meats/sandwiches are perfectly acceptable. If you want to go really cheap, find a family or friend's house that has a decent backyard that you can transform. Research and price out vendors. Also, winter weddings are cheaper than summer if you are flexible about your date. Research, research and research! David's Bridal has the $99 gown sales (might even be going on now, not sure) if you are flexible about the type of dress you want.

  18. Hire a planner, or, if you are up to it, have the Wedding in your own back yard! You can make some food, fix up the place, then have enough money for a special honeymoon!

  19. If you want the whole traditional wedding, you could find a reasonable church and reception hall.  What will run up the bill is the number of guests.  Everything else will be up to you, but no matter how inexpensive everything is, if you have 600 guests it will be expensive.

  20. Weddings are ridiculous. We priced ours out in our local city. We were going to have it at a BEAUTIFUL casino that has ballrooms and catering, but after pricing out all the costs it came to about $32 000. YEAH RIGHT! Weddings have become so crazy and expensive it completely take the joy out of it. After calculating, decorations, food, booze, rooms, dresses, tuxes, gift...ect, we decided it just was not worth it. Not to mention the honeymoon! We decided on a wedding in Punta Cana DR. You pay for the trip $2999 for two weeks(which is what you would spend on your honeymoon anyways..and...food. Our food was going to cost us $6500 at our wedding here!!) and then the wedding package was only about $1900. It's perfect for us and all the family we really wanted to come is there. All the decorations are included and you dont have to worry about any of the planning.
