The airfreshner i use often gets used up as the place is quite big!

the pourries dont work either, i tried candles the other day and then after putting them off the scent went away , likewise for buring oils.

So it becomes rather expensive buying and burning........

Whats a good way to retain the scent and make it always smell good.

  1. You shouldn't have to burn the candles - just keep them around.

I have many jasmine plants and I also burn incense.

  2. live eucalytus (used in wreths and floral arrangements) is nice and very long lasting. also, some reed diffusers are good. the ones from Partylite last nicely. i've also had some luck with those air fresherners that give a burst of scent every 15 minutes or so.

  3. I do no like air fresheners.  I like to make sure the house smells clean.  I air it out with windows open ...and then clean with lemon oil wax and my wooden floors are wiped with vinegar and water.

Nothiing beats a fresh clean smell.

BUT as Christmas time I like to get a Christmas smell of pine as I do an artificial tree.  I do know that most craft shops have the liquid poupouri's and you plug in what looks like a small crockpot and put the liquid /and or oil and heat it up.  It is very nice!

  4. Good quality potpourri would probably be the best.  You may have to spend a little more, but with potpourri you simply mix it occassionally with you hands to replenish the scent.  Place it in a wooden bowl for full effect and longer lasting.  You also said your place is big, so perhaps you could tie some potpourri into small bags simply from a fabric or linen, which would slowly emit the scent and place these in discrete places throughout your home.

  5. You can go to a shop and buy natural scents to use. Like lavender oil or rose oil. Then get a little spray bottle at the dollar store. Put a couple of caps of oil in the water and spray your room fresh everyday. Clean and fresh and not the mention....not expensive either!
