My spouse has had over 15 driving under the influences, has been in jail for 3 months at a time has even stopped drinking for 10 months. Then started all over again. And now is back to the old ways and bad attitude.

  1. LOOK SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP WHAT YOU LOVE MOST TO HELP THAT PERSON CAUSE AT THIS POINT IN HER LIFE SHE DOESNT WANT TO HELP HERSELF,,SO I THINK YOU NEED TO TELL HER U R LEAVING HER UNLESS SHE REALLY GETS SOME HELP THAT YOU R TIRED OF SEEING HER THIS WAY ALL THE TIME,I FYOU HAVE TO LEAVE U NEED TO CAUSE I DONT SEE HOW ANYONE COULD SURIVE A RELATIONSHIP LIKE THE ONE YOU HAVE,,,IF YOU LEAVE SHE MAY DESIDE TO REALLY CHANGE HER LIFE AROUND,,,PEACE

  2. It's going to take a very bad incident to get his attention. You need to lay down the law and tell him, there are no more chances, no more bail outs. You have probably wasted thousands on fines and with the lack of his paychecks. I have seen it a hundred times. Tough love is all I can tell you.

  3. get some of the nonalcoholic beer made by Heineken

  4. You are an enabler! You need to get him some help through an intervention and Rehab! If that is not an option, you need to part ways until he takes charge with his life!

  5. I would take him to an AA meeting! I think you should look for some meeting that might be in your area. FYI, AA stands for Alcoholic Anonymous

  6. I hate to add to your stress but no amount of guilt or arguing or anything is going to make them stop drinking...they have to want to quit...at that point your support will be of utmost importance but until then you need to stop bailing your spouse out of the troubled times...If it is as bad as you say...you need to leave...

  7. 15 dui's???  his license should have been taken away permanently after the 2nd time...  or is he driving anyway???

=(...  this guy should be locked up in his house so he can't buy beer...  take his money and credit cards away from him...  he should have an ankle bracelet by now and never be allowed to leave the property except to go to work, no stopping at the bar after work!  or the store!

    sigh!

  8. Just get him to jail!

  9. Just make him feel sorry for himself or you and his family then he might go into rehab

  10. this is a hard one--he has to want to stop and have the ability to stick by it--be his support and find him a good support group because you can't do it alone...would he consider rehab? have you tried getting tough? tough love is hard to do but sometimes it brings them into reality that they really are going to loose the ones they love if they can't get right---he definitely needs to get some help because if he's out there driving he can not only hurt himself but could end up hurting someone else or worse...

    Best of Luck~

  11. he really needs prayers , but for now you could take him to church and try to introdce him to a different life and just get him distracted from the alcohol.Mybe even councellin there must be a deeper readon that, the fact that he likes a good drink.
