i am trying to get more support for it but i feel like my lecturers are not educated enough in my university. the special needs department is really helpful but i feel like my lecturers treat me way too 'normal' and expect me to explain things quickly and efficiently (which is my weakness)

  1. If listening comprehension is your area of weakness, perhaps you can ask for a note taker from your Disable Student Services.   You may also be able to ask for a copy of the lecture before class, that way you can review it and be better up to speed.  Do you get graded on your teachers asking you to explain things?  If not, don't worry about it.  If you are graded, ask them to let you know before class.  I had a kid with a Traumatic Brain Injury in a class I taught in graduate school, and shehad similar issues.  I would touch base with her before and after class, but not really call on her in class.   This way I still knew she was keeping up with the material.  She also had a note taker and took tests in the Disabled Student Office area so she'd have more time.

  2. Remember of typical words the persons next to you use. Write them down. Remember the speaking situation and look at the word.
