How can i help protect my ideas for improving the delivery method of a product to a company?

I need my ideas to be protected.

I dont' know if a patent will do.

This also involves a very large company that i would like to target with the idea.

speak with a patent atty but make sure they are reputable many times people go and they say  that won't work then they sell your idea so research local attorneys don't use an online patent company.

Also you might want to look into copyrighting as well if you are worried.

Get a Provisional Patent which is good for one year. You can do it yourself and it only costs 105$.  Google "provisional patent template" to do it yourself.
