I read that nail polish is basically just really high quality paint, so find a makeup shop that will let you bring in your bike and find a matching color.  may want to use some fine (VERY VERY fine) sand paper to prepare the surface to accept the polish (buff the edges off the scratch), but it sounds like it couldn't look much worse than it already does. Hope that  helps.

halford usually stock scratch cover up paint in little kits with a bit of primer, oaint and lacquer to give it a shine. you could try and mind a close match and see if that works

another option would be a decal. get a sticker off ebay or something
