How can i hide my folders or files in a mac?

In a pc i only had to click with the rigth button and choose "hide" but i cant do it on my mac. I would like to block or hide images, folders and documents.

  1. i no you can unhide files thru terminal

    but i am not sure about hiding them

    try searching google for a terminal way to hide specific files  


  2. Unfortunately, there is no built-in option I am aware of, but there is a very simple program that you can use called Hide Folders:

    http://www.altomac.com/hide_folders/

    This program is free.

    You can set a password to open the application, so others can't see what you've hidden. Just drag what you want to hide into the program window, click the folder you just dragged in, and click "Hide" up on the toolbar.

    The same goes for un-hiding a folder.
