How can i hook my xbox 360 up through my laptop?

Question

I'm trying to connect my xbox 360 to my router via my wireless laptop to avoid the 100$ microsoft network adapter. The connection is set up like this: Xbox (ethernet)-> Laptop (wireless)->router->modem

I tried bridging the local area connection with my wireless connection which as i guess did not work(read something about crossover cables but i have no idea what that is) then i tried enableing ics on the wireless connection only to get the error message saying "an error occured while internet connection sharing was being enabled", I checked the services and verified the required services were on and restarted the comp which did not work, Please help
