I know that in order to get paid for it I will have to cook for them and drive them places. This is not a problem but I can't find any exchange place that is willing to pay me for my services.

  1. Hosting exchange students -- at least high school aged ones -- is not a paid job. It is a volunteer experience. If it is a legitimate (and legal) organization in the U.S. you will not be offered, nor allowed to accept, money.

If you want to do this as a job, consider hosting a college student. They can rent rooms (with or without meals included) and pay for services. Unfortunately for what you seem to want to do, they most likely drive themselves around and wash their own clothes.
