  1. Be safe and request your make & model installation manual. Don't 2nd guess, so not to void any warranties.

  2. If you go to an electrical supply house with a picture or a sketch of the receptacle that is installed in your home, they will be able to identify the type and rating of the receptacle.  When you make the sketch, pay attention to the position of the blades and the shape of the grounding pin.  Some of the grounds are round, some are "L" shaped, the blades may be straight or "V" alignment, or "T" for some of the power blades.

  3. Look at the plug... If it looks like your regular plugs then Its 110V but if it is a little bigger and a round shape then its 220V

  4. Your washer is and will be 120V.  The dryer will be gas or electric.  The electric will have a special receptacle that is larger than a standard outlet and will have either 3 or 4 prongs.  Look in your electrical panel and see if there is a breaker that is twice as wide as the others with the number 30 on the switch.  That may be the breaker for a 240V hookup for a dryer.  Look behind the dryer first, and if you see an odd ball receptacle, that likely will be it.  Good ;luck.

  5. If you have a gas dryer, it's 120V.

    A "220" V. Plug will look different from a standard 120V. plug.

    If it looks like 120, it's 120.
