How can i identify the Thoroughbred horses racing in a painting?

I need to find out what horses are racing in an oil painting i have. I know that each jockey wears the owners or farm colors.

Is there a website that i can find out this info?

Often, the artist doesn't paint the actual colors.  But if he did, you might try these.

How old is the painting and who did it?  Sometimes more info is available that way then starting from the content.
