find a batting cage that has a ball machine..take a person along that can watch and look for your mistakes..not just swinging but how you stand and approach the plate and hold your bat...

Watch youself in a mirror and practice good habbits. If you already have a video camera, record yourself hitting off of a tee, and then analyze it in slow motion.

How would spending money improve your swing?

Get a heavy bat and go into a pool and practice swinging the bat in there. Do it often, it will build up the proper muscles. And it shouldn't cost you anything.
