  1. First of all, I think that they both look great! But because you asked, to improve the cat I would add some more shading under it's chin and on it's nose so that it doesn't look so flat. And considering that you did the flowers quickly they look good. I would just add some more details on them unless you want them to not be detailed.

  2. The cat drawing indicates that you have the ability . . .but the cat's face is out of proportion.  I bet if you compared it to the photo the eyes are set too close together.  Watch blocking in basic shapes and features and checking them for spatial relationships before you begin the detail work.

The eyes themselves are extremely well-done, however.  Keep drawing . . . practice will improve your skills.

  3. I really like the one of the cat :)

You just might work on more shadows and highlights of the fur. The eyes look a little flat, so just remember that they are 3D and have highlights as well. It's good so far though, don't give up, and just keep practicing! Just take it step by step.

You might also work a little on proportions, and making the flowers look more 3D then flat. Just some deeper shadows/highlights will do the trick. Also, very important is to remember where your light source is, or you could finish a piece and have unnatural looking shadows. Happened to me a lot my earlier drawing days :p

Good luck, and remember practice and patience can transform your art into whatever you'd like it to be :)

  4. Those are great.  Lots of practice.  Pick up a few books by other artists.  They helped me lots with oil painting.  There are also lots of web sites that have tips and lessons.  Do a search you'll come across more sites than you can bother looking at.  lol

  5. I think you're on the right track but the flowers look 2 dimensional...the trick to painting is to make it look realistic...unless you were going for a 2 dimensional feel, then you're doing great

  6. Oh you are really good at drawing  !!! Well done .

I love the cat there is just something odd about her eyes. :)

Just use your imagination and you really have to be inspired to do a good drawing ( which you deffo do )  : ]

    xoxo

  7. Well you are very artistic and I love the way you draw, but since you want to improve them , I would say that the Cat's eyebrows are kind of taking up all the space on the upper part of the face and maybe the eyes are either too close together and/or too slanted. And the flowers are very pretty so I don't really think they need any improvements! You paint like Vincent Van Gogh! Hope I helped!!! xp

  8. I would say study the technique of brush and line strokes. The first one is really good -different shading patterns can give it an even more realistic look. Same for the second picture, Look into brush strokes more and specific ways to use the brushes for realistic looks.  :)

  9. i love the picture of the cat!

the shading is always important and i think your good at this. the only  thing i think you need to concentrate on is the shapes and proportions. how did you start drawing the face? did you make it up of lots of circles fitting together? this is the best way to get the shape right.

as for the second picture i think you need a little more practice with the different shades. the colours you have used are block colours and you need a little depth. have you tried working with oil paints or watercolour?

hope this helps. keep up the good work :]
