How can i improve my math skills from a D to an A?

Question

i'm gifted in everything exept math Gate English Gate History Adv. Gym Gate Science but my math skills lack and i need to get a higher grade to join the adv. class how can i improve to go on to the 9th grade these year without totally going over board and doing 100 things in one day everyday

I think that the key to fixing the problem is to first identify exactly where your weaknesses are. Math tends to expand sequentially on concepts that you've previously learned. Once you've missed a fundamental building block, everything after that point will become incomprehensible.

I'd suggest finding a teacher or a tutor who can perform a detailed skills assessment to determine what your weakness are and concentrate on rebuilding those areas first.

Please don't try to do "100 things in one day everyday". Doing that won't help. It will frustrate and impede you in solving the problem.

well...i say the easiest thing to do is to get a tutor. Even though it might not be what you want, tutors help alot. It seems that your a smart kid but everyone has their problems in math every once and a while. If you don't want a tutor than take an after school class or ask your parents, friends or teachers to help you in advance...Anyways, congratulations on your JHS graduation...and good luck in HS.
