  1. just study alot. wen youre in class, listen to the teacher. dnt just watch her. and dont let freinds get in the way

  2. First off, memorizing facts does not an education make. You must have the ability to acquire knowledge and apply it as an individual using critical thinking skills. Always supplement your school books with other resources on the same subject. If you're reading about the Civil War, go and get some other books on the subject. There is an entire podcast based on this subject. This is how you learn. Sorry, I'm not trying to lecture to you.

Make sure you're getting at least 8 hours of good sleep.

    Reduce sugar/caffeine intake.

Eat mostly vegetable and fruit, then whole grains.

Make water your primary cup-filler - your drink of choice.

Don't clog your brain up with all the internet/TV/magazine garbage that pervades teen life.

Hang out with people who do well in school. Their ways will rub off on you.

Get at least an hour exercise every day.

Pick up a musical instrument. Studies show that children who play musical instruments have better test scores and improved learning.

Yes, TV really does have an effect on your brain, as does everything we accept into our eyes and ears. However, some have argued that certain aspects of TV have been engineered to affect us in ways that reduce the quality of our lives.

If you've forgotten things, just remember: Use it or lose it. Check out Brain Age for Nintendo DS if you have to play video games. Do crossword puzzles, and such.

You should have fun as a teen, but remember that you're also building the mind/ethics/morals that will serve or fail you later in life. It wasn't that long ago that I was a teen; I truly believe this.

If you're in public schools, you have been trained that memorizing information is learning. It is not. Schools must make you think this because they need you to retain just enough info to make good grades. The institution of public schools don't care about what you retain, even if you do have teachers that care.

If you're really interested in education and knowledge and what system you're in, you should check out John Taylor Gatto's "Dumbing us Down." It's brilliant and I haven't met a public school teacher who has read it that doesn't agree with what he has written.

Get out of public school, if you can. Maybe your parents or a rich relative is interested in encouraging your educational desires by paying for private school.

    Good luck.

  3. oily fish is good for memory if you don't like fish take a cod liver oil tablet daily....always eat breakfast....tv won't make you more stupid but it doesn't help just sat there mouth agape watching any old rubbish....stay away from big brother, americas top model etc and limit your viewing and get a good nights sleep
