  1. Running daily is the best thing you can do to improve your time. You need to go at a consistent pace the entire time that you are running. The last lap should be your fastest, not your slowest. You should go hard at the beginning usually, settle in, and the last lap you have to give it all that you have. Running is mental more than it is physical. You need to convince yourself that you can do it and you can't stop. Good luck running! I hope that your problem is solved.

  2. k..soOo...

start superslow even breathing spring the last bit. got that?

and just go to a gym and work out on the bikes..treadmill or something to get you in better shape or do a bunch of jumping jacks. make shure you stretch a lot..eat decently

the more excercise you do..the better you'll do.

  3. i say practice a lot and take the first and second lap a little hard then take the third a little harder and keep the same pace until the last 200 and then sprint it in

  4. 1) pace yourself while running start off slow and use the last bit of enegy for the last lap

    2) drink plenty of fluids b4 hnd but not enough to make you sick

    3) months before try just running of a tread mill at about 3 miles and hour. thats a mile in 2 minutes. it will builid leg strength so come the day you will have the muscles to runbut dont forget to slwly bring up he speed

    4) stretch right b4 running

    5) deep breathes while running

  5. run faster and more often

  6. Try going slower at the start and keeping a steady pace. Try to  run each lap at 2:40.  This will give you a time of 10:40. Cut each lap down   each week until you can run each lap at 2: 25, to be safe. Your time would be 10: 40.

    Good luck!!!!!!

  7. Go at the same pace the whole time and on the last lap u will b running instead of walking!!

  8. For an excellent program, click on http://www.navy-prt.com/trainingrun.html  Try to remember that the best way to improve your mile is in good enough shape to run a couple.   I've used this program myself and it is quite effective.
