  1. hard work

  2. Do sprints & heavy leg lifts like squats. This will give you explosive power. And look into jumping exercises - plyometrics. This too helps with explosive power for quick moves.

  3. lol..... mr. knowitall says it all...

hard work makes a good player in you.

also do sum drills. Look up videos on youtube.com, look for videos like dwyane wade, allen iverson, and all those good offensive players.

  4. b***s

  5. Hard work, practice, dedication, going the extra mile, studying the game and developing your knowledge as well as physical skills.

A combination of things really, conditioning, skill and ability, mental toughness and intelligence in playing the game, u just gotta work hard, learn and get better.

  6. To help create your own shot, just work on the little things like fakes, jab steps and bumping defensive players. You need to develop quickness and develop a fast release on your shot if you want to be really good.

To drive quicker and more effectively make sure you have a good, strong first step, but you cant do everything yourself. Get a team-mate involved to make a quick screen.

Also, if you are a good free throw shooter, defenders will back off you a little bit for the lap-ups because they know you will hurt them from the line.

    PRACTICE

  7. Do plyometrics like the person above me said.  That will work help you work on a quick first step to get around defenders, it will also give you quick bursts of speed that is needed to get to the basket.  If you are you in highschool work on dribbling in traffic with cones.  Depending on what offense you run, i think the most important thing is to learn how and when to cut and how to use pick and rolls.  Some NBA players arent that athletic or explosive but they use their knowledge to their advantage.  Rip Hamilton is a perfect example.  He isnt that tall or big but if you see him he runs on the court making beautiful cuts and using screens effectively to get easy layups or easy shots.  Work on the mid-range jumper.  It will help out a lot as well.
