  1. Is it full Hd??? i work for a leading electric store in ireland and my recomendation, is to buy a scart called Monster cable, it is really amazing an we sell tones of the stuff, now it is expensive, It is 24 carat gold insulated also leads for music systems are gr8!!!

  2. The biggest difference between SCART leads is in the quality of their construction. Going for oxygen-free cable is unlikely to give you any noticable improvement in either picture or sound.

Cheap SCART leads are more likely to fail than good quality ones but that's all.

Spend your money on a cable with  decent plugs that won't fall apart or have loose pins. Gold plated pins are usually a good thing because they make good contact and resist corrosion (but cheap thin gold plate will rub off with use).

Oxygen-free cables are good for expensive hi-fi equipment but the tv video and sound standards are not in that league (by design) so it's not worth it.

You can never improve on the quality of the source picture or sound (i.e. from Freeview box, DVD, VHS or whatever) so simply changing a SCART cable alone will not provide picture or sound detail that isn't there in the first place.

Honestly, unless you are a "cable snob" OR you are feeding the tv from an HD source (or an upscaling DVD player) then you're wasting your money if you pay more than £25 for a 1 metre SCART cable at Comet or Curry's.

  3. if you have a low def signal coming IN no matter how much you sopend on leads it will always look poor and low def aas Many HD sets are designed to work well with HD signals or internal tuner only.

SCART has many qualities go for something above mid range as bottom are useless and top priced are often just gimmicks. but remember SCART is for a LOW def (normal 480) signals and it wont look good on a 768 or 108 set as neither is an exact multiple of 480.

Sets are designed to look best at signals that match the resolution otherwise the signal is scaled and often looks blotchy.
