How can i improve my ping on COD4?

On the online play for Call of Duty 4, my ping is consistently above 150. What can i do to lower it?

faster computer, faster internet, lower quality settings.

Purchase a faster computer, because that's call of duty4 modern warfare right? i have that. Your computer should have about 3.6 GHz, A higher memory storage, a DSL( direct satellite line)its a faster internet which will boost up your ping. Buy the full DSL coz when if it's dicounted you'll get a cheat one. A higher video card.
