Question:

How can i improve my springting speed?i play football ( soccer) and i play on the wing so i need to be quick?

as i sed i play on the wing and i need to improve my starts and my sprinting speed over 50-70m. im 15 years old and im reasonably quick so has anyone got any deatils.

p.s im looking to improve over a maxiumum 3 months.

  2. yuor first three steps are cruicial i had a running coach thats what he said. Really focus on them and you will get a lot quicker

  3. If its explosive power you want to build up, which I presume thats what you need playing on the wing, yjen there is an easy way of achieving this. Get weights and put them on yr ankles, you can get them in plenty of shops. train with them on, then when you take them off you can run faster. Trust me it works.

    My Dad used to train and race greyhounds for  a living. We used to make them pull a weight behind them. When the weight was then removed they went like Sh*t off a shovel!!

    I know yr not  a dog, but the principle is the same.

    Also, try using Creatine as part of yr supplements.

ONE WAY IS TO WORKOUT WITH HEAVY WEIGHTS ON YOUR SQUAT AND LIGHT WEIGHTS ON YOUR BENCH AFTER YOU WEIGHT ROOM WORKOUT GO AND RUN TEN FORTY YARD SPRINTS DO IT EVERY DAY FOR TWO WEEKS ANOTHER IS GO TO GNC AND BUY SUPLIMENT PILLS AND TAKE THEM BEFORE YOU WORKOUTS

  5. When training for speed, you will need to follow workouts that are made for explosion. These workouts include exercises like the bench press, squat, deadlift, military press, power clean, and snatch. These exercises are called the "core lifts" in the workout and are all compound lifts.

    Then you have exercises like incline bench press, close grip bench press, triceps pushdown, front raises, lunges, step-ups, leg extensions, leg curls, and hang cleans which are labeled "auxiliary lifts".  

    Some good running exercises in between weight training consists of drills like cone drills (shuttle, figure 8, side to side, suicides, etc.), hill running, and 10,20,40,60,100,200,300,400 yard sprints.
