  1. short hill sprints then jog back down or decent hill climbs with a steadt jog and then walk back down

  2. The essential fact is:

Unless you keep going when you feel totally 'buggered' when you're training, you're not at fitness 'gain' level; that's why beep test  is valuable as it takes some of the thinking away - look at the horizon and contemplate other things but get the pain reverence out of the psyche - it's only pain - so push past and show some disrespect to the pain

you'll be surprised that when you tell the body to shut up and shape up - it tends to stop whining and niggling - really!

Try setting a staged increase in work - but work with a mate so you can push each other - as self discipline does need a friend too, to remind you.

  3. just start steady running do it regular and increase your distance slowly

  4. try using a ladder and running stepping inbetween the rungs.

Instead of using a ladder though, you could just use a path and chalk and every 30cm draw a line and step between these. Hope this helps

  5. The Beep Test.

You can buy it or download it from the net.

Or just often going for a normal run slowly increasing the length each time.

You could also do 'Suicides' or the Shuttle Run
