  1. you'll improve by experience. use report or newspaper and type it in computer. that is how you will improve. Internet courses usually tell you how to type and what fingers to use, but they dont allow you to practice it while monitoring you. just practice and you ll get better soon.

  2. The easiest way is to use a lesson based typing tutor. Sense-lang is merely a tool to help improved typists and will not teach you proper hand placement and speed techniques.

I would personally recommend http://www.typingweb.com as it is free, requires no downloads, and has all the features of a pay to use typing tutor, but goes twice as fast.

  3. I used to help out senior citizens to learn to type and from all the free learning tools out on the web, this website is my favorite:

    http://www.sense-lang.org/typing/

After clicking on the button "English Regular Keyboard" you can either copy and paste your own text into the textbox  shown there at the beginning of the lesson, or you can select lesson by lesson through the exercises on the site.

There are many other sites out there, but the others seem to give you a few lessons and then charge you half way through.

Since you know the home row keys, you are ready to type the keys around that home row.  How you reach each key is explained below.  The lessons on sense-lang's site will gradually teach you how to reach these keys:

        * "q" "a" and "z" are typed with the pinkie of your left hand, and your pinkie also presses the tab, caps lock, and shift button.

        * "w" "s" and "x" are typed with the ring finger of your left hand.

        * "e" "d" and "c" are typed with the middle finger of your left hand.

        * "r" "f" "v" "b" "g" and "t" are typed with the index finger of your left hand.

        * Your thumb should never leave the space bar.

        * "u" "j" "n" "m" "h" and "y" are typed with your index finger of your right hand.

        * "i" "k" and the button the has a "," and a "<" on it are typed with the middle finger of your right hand.

        * "o" "l" and the button that reads ">" and "." will be typed with your ring finger of the right hand.

        * Your pinkie of your right hand is used for typing: "p", ";", ":", "'", """ (a quotation mark), "/", "?", "[", "{", "]", "}", "\", "|", and is used for pressing the shift, enter, and backspace keys.

When you think you're ready you can use a site like this one to time yourself:  http://www.typingtest.com/default.asp  You can even add this test to your Facebook page to practice every day.

    Good luck.

  4. Type from a magazine and time yourself to see how much you can type in a small amount of time. You can see how fast you are and how many mistakes you are making. Keep doing this and you are going to get faster with less mistakes.
