  1. 1) Your speed is only the speed between your computer and your provider.  From there out, your provider has no control over the speed of the internet.  If even a short part of the path between you and the server you connect to (youtube, in this case) is slow, you have a slow connection to that server.  And there's nothing anyone can do about it - the routers on the internet are controlled by programs, not by people, and routes change many times a second.

    2) AOL isn't providing your connection, just your service.  You'll probably get a much faster connection if you used your telephone company or TV cable company as your internet provider.

    3) AOL's browser is a modification of a browser that's a modification of ... - use Firefox.  (Internet Explorer is better than AOL's browser, but Firefox is better still.)

  2. AOL?!? who uses that anymore? even the cheapest dsl from verizon is $15/month and it's far better than AOL.

  3. Ditch AOL and use Firefox. AOL is for dialup users. You can access your aim/aol email via the aol website and the standalone AIM, and you don't have to use their crappy browser.

  4. It can not be 10 Mbps, this is probably the speed of your LAN connection.  you will need to subscribe to a higher bandwidth service. firefox is NOT a subscription service for broadband.

  5. Yeah ditch the browser, but do you have AOl as an Internet Service Provider (ISP)? because if you do there really isnt anything you can do :) besides get cablespeed or if youre rich and power hugry get a T1 line :)
