  1. Provided you pick an amplifier with a built-in crossover (which includes just about all of them) then you can just use the front or rear pre-out to supply a signal for your subwoofer.  The advantage to a sub pre-out is that there's usually a way to adjust the volume setting through the deck, and the sub won't be affected by balance or fader settings.  Other than these frills, however, your subwoofer will work just fine with the rear or front pre-out.

If your deck has no pre-outs at all, then you need to purchase a line output converter, or use an amplifier with speaker-level inputs.  Both are very common.

  2. Does it have any Inputs our Outputs at all (red and white colors)? I ran into that problem with an older deck and as far as I know there is no way to hook one up. There might be a special way to wire it in without the pre-out, but I'm not sure and thats where it would get pretty confusing. Go to a stereo installation shop and ask, I'm sure they could help you if there is a way at all. Good luck

  3. All you need is a line output converter. They are very cheap, just search around google for "line output converter". All you have to do is tap into the rear bass speakers in your car and send it into the line output converter which produces a low level signal that your amplifier can easily accept.

  4. If you,re gonna go large with your ICE, invest in a decent head unit with all the trick bits you want before starting.

When I used to fit custom installs in my cars (before I had kids..!) I used to plan the install on paper first. That way you can have it checked before you go ahead with the install.
