Question:

How can i keep my circle cakes from getting too hard around the edges?

I have a box of dark choco fudge cake mix...but i don't want the edges to come out...well you know how they do...hard-like.any tips?

  1. i under cook it my 5 minutes  you can also take a serrated  knife and saw the edges off  a cooled off cake

  3. Your oven temp may be off. Are you putting them on the middle rack? You could always put a bit of foil over the edges .

  4. sounds like you are slightly overcooking them. Your oven may cook at a little hotter than the temp. gage says. Remember that when you take them out of the oven, they are still in a hot pan and will continue to cook for a few minutes. But sometimes it happens, and what I do is carefully pare the hardest bits with a knife before I frost the cake...by the way, those hot hard bits you just pared off are good with some butter or frosting while they are still hot!
