Hello. I live in new york and i found a baby lizard in my house. I have no clue what species it is, i brang it to multiple pet shops, they dont know what it is. It no bigger then a quarter. I tried feeding it flies, ants, lettue, carrots. Im not really sure if hes been eating them. I think hes dieing now. Hes only moving when provoked. What can i get him to eat? What can i do?

  1. What color is the little guy? What shape does his head have? What do his scales look like?

  2. Try making sure you feed it food that is the right size. It shouldn't be any bigger than the space BETWEEN his eyes. Try giving him crickets. The little pinhead ones sound like they'd be good ^____^ go to the pet store and ask them to sperate three little pinheads in a seperate baggie. toss em in and see if he eats them :)

  3. He could have been shipped in on a house plant.

You can force feed it, shoving small insects down it's mouth, but this stresses the animal out, as it's probably been through enough.

Keep him moist, keep offering him food, if he dies, it might be the most comfortable thing to him.

  4. If you live in the city or on Long Island I would try to go to D&J reptiles in Hicksville or Diesel Reptiles in Centereach. Both stores are very knowledgeable ( i go to Diesel all the time and bought a few lizards from there) There is also a reptile vet at exit 48 on the south service road of the LIE, the Long Island Vet emergancy specialists. The reptile vet is Dr. Panarelo and he has helped several of my guys. Vet phone number is 516 501 1700, good luck.

  5. If you want to keep it alive, letting it go would be the best thing. It's not unusual for wild caught reptiles to starve to death because they refused to eat due to the stress of being caught. And posting a picture so it can be identified wouldn't hurt either. It's hard to tell someone how to care for something if nobody knows what it is.

  6. keep him warm and buy baby crickets at petsmart. i live in NY and thats where i get mine for my pets.
