How can i keep my windows vista laptop running while it is closed?

I need to have my laptop configured to keep running while it is completely closed, and not go into sleep.

  1. Go to Control panel --> Power Option...

    Choose your power plan... change plan settings--> change advance settings... Scroll Down and expand Power buttons and lid, then lid close action select on battery:Do nothing and plugged in: Do nothing

    You may have to do this for every power plan if you change your power plan


  2. Go to the power management control panel and the setting will be somewhere there.

    Just make sure your laptop doesn't have any vents around the keyboard that are blocked when the lid is closed.
