How can i keep swimming pool water fresh and clean for summer?

I have just brought the kids a fast set pool for the garden for summer.. (onky ever had paddling pools)

So i am unsure what to use etc to keep water fresh n clean.. So i do not have to keep refilling..

Do i really need filter, chlorine tablets as well as water pump.. Please help!!!

just drain the water in winter and fill it up with fresh water in the summer add bleach if u donot want to be infected.

The pool should come with directions for daily care.
