How can i kill a tree without to cut it down?

I live in a organic farm in tropical weather.2 years ago i planted few passion fruit ( which is a climber ) on few guassimo ( the trees i want to kill).Now the tree are growing to much and i want to kill without cut it,like this the passion fruits will grow more on the top of death trees .Theyr are located far from houses or tracks.Some people said to me to cut all the bark around the tree, but seems not working soo well.i did it and the trees are steel alive after 2 months.

  1. Copper nails, hammer them in around the tree it will kill it


  2. cutting the bark around will not kill the tree by itself.

    re-cut the bark (it may have started to already heal since you cut it before) and apply this stuff:

    That will kill the tree completely.

  3. Cutting around the bark will kill most trees that have a vascular  system (like our blood veins) that is only at the outer growing edges of the trunk, behind the bark.  These are often the hardwoods.  But, some plants have a "bundled" vascular system where the tree's "veins" are inside the trunk in separate bundles.  These types of trees need to be cut down.
