How can i kill the larva of Japanese Beatles in ground for next year?

  1. You can use a subsurface pesticide like Merit. Also if you use Merit around your trees and shrubs, this will help keep the beetles off the plants.

    Merit is systemic in plants.

    Merit's active ingredient is imidaclopid, and can now be found as other name brands.


  2. You have to kill the grubs to kill the beetles.  So use grub control products.  Even if you kill the grubs on your property all your neighbors have to as well or they will just move over to your yard.  And since its almost impossible to get everyone to do it you have to spray all your plants with a substance such as Ortho Bug B Gone before the beetles are out and they will stay off the plants.

  3. You can use milky spore but it really takes a couple years to work.  Also, beneficial nematodes can be purchased and put in the soil.  The problem is that Japanese beetles can fly a long way and unless the whole county does the same thing to control them, it won't help much.
