  1. If you go to ask.com and search for the website that you would like to see and hover your mouse over the pair of binoculars you will be able to see how traffic that site is getting. You can also get an idea of how much traffic that site is getting by going it Alexa.com and look at the rankings.

  2. I finally got all I needed by spending about $30 a month for SEO and web hosting via a website designer and he was well worth it. I can see the volume of activity, if that is what you need to know, and much more. I suggest you look into his sight at dbcanvas.com for more information. He can help you make a better sight for much less than you would pay elsewhere, and you can concentrate on your content and take the hassles out of website work.

  3. Traffic counters are very one-dimensional.

A lot of business owners, bloggers, social networks, etc. have been asking that question for years.  That's why Google offers it's Analytics program free to the public.

This little javascript application logs a ton of information about every visitor to your site, allowing you to answer a TON of questions that were previosuly beyond reach:

    - How do people typically navigate our website?

    - Which keywords drive the most traffic from search engines?

    - Which links to our site send the most visitors?

    - Are there geographic or seasonal trends we should be aware of?

    - How many of these visitors are being engaged for the first time?

    - Which pages on our website are the most popular?

    - What does our company's online sales funnel look like?

    - What can we do to turn more visitors into customers?

There are no strings attached, it's a breeze to install, they even have support reps to walk you through it.  For 95% of website owners, this is far and away the best solution.

  4. Go to www.bravenet.com , open a free account and subscribe for a free hit

    counter.

See the example of a free hit counter at my blog.

  5. Get a traffic counter , or get a script and install it on your server . Also if you have a server with a control panel check on the traffic stats . You will get an idea from it . If it is not your site you ca check the page rank on alexa.com just type the site name on the search box if the site has a rank of 100,000 or less you can see how many visits per day.
