Question:

How can i know the distance i am running?

at school, 22 laps around the gym is a mile. so during the summer, i run around my driveway, which is bigger than the gym. so i really dont know how to measure my distance, what can i do?

  1. Well, it sounds like you have money. So, you probably could afford a meter roll. We use it for track to measure the meters we want to run. 1meter = 1000mm. Also, 10 blocks = 1mile.


  2. Measure the driveway and count the laps. Use a measuring tape -- it shouldn't take too long. You could even run a kite string around it then measure that afterward.

    OR

    Use a Garmin Forerunner. Even just borrow it from someone once and then you know what you're dealing with.

    OR

    Get a pedometer, figure out your average stride length, and let it estimate for you. Should be good enough.

    OR

    Find whatever records from when the driveway was built, and see what they say the dimensions are.

    I'd personally just buy a basic pedometer and go off of my average stridge length. Should be close enough.
